• BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

    Job Title:

    Behavior Technician

    Reports To: Supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

    Jackson Jade Therapy Administrative Staff

    Responsibilities:

    • Design and systematically implement and monitor patient’s skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs
    • Provide individual and/or group therapy within the home, clinic, and/or community consistent with patient’s goals and objectives as identified by the treatment plan developed by the BCBA
    • Create a safe and positive environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of patient
    • Collaborate with Jackson Jade allied healthcare professionals in co-treatment sessions
    • Collect and document accurate data on patient’s performance to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the individualized plan 
    • Track and provide BCBA with regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment goals
    • As allowed within, support the BCBA in training families on techniques used within therapy, session your scope of practice and competence levels feedback, progress in treatment, additional or continued needs, and/or home program to promote carryover and generalization to other environments
    • Communicate with colleagues, health, and education professionals regarding the patient’s care and/or progress as allowed within parameters set forth by HIPAA and FERPA
    • Must be able to perform and maintain emotional control in the event of stressful situations and/or when confronted with persons acting under stress

    Support colleagues and/or administration in research projects, in-

    service training, public relation programs, etc. as directed by the

    executive administration of Jackson Jade

    Conduct self in a professional manner

     Participate in training workshops, team meetings, and supervision

    requirements as directed by your supervisor, registration board, and

    by Jackson Jade protocol

     Follow the policies and procedures of Jackson Jade Therapy

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, early childhood

    development, communication disorders, occupation or physical

    therapy, or a related field

    Obtain additional certifications and/or registrations as required by

    Jackson Jade Therapy

    Experience working with children with impairments or disabilities

    and/or behavior challenges

    Must be able to physically assist patients with transition to/from

    treatment, those with limited mobility, and/or maintain strength and

    endurance such as the ability to run, restrain, lift, move, hold, or

    carry items or individuals exceeding five (5) pounds in order to

    protect the patient, other, and/or self from physical harm

    More than 95% of your work day will include work that involves both

    sedentary and physical movement including sitting, standing,

    walking, running, lifting, rapid movements, restraining, dancing, etc.

    Proficient computer skills including the ability to operate Microsoft

    Office and practice management software

    Must be proficient in the English language (reading, writing, and

    speaking)

    Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

    Ability to travel to various work locations as assigned including

    multi-clinic and/or patient’s private home

    Valid driver’s license

    Valid car insurance

    Must have own reliable transportation
